Mistral Compute runs 13,800 NVIDIA GB300 GPUs in a 44 MW data center at Bruyères-le-Châtel (Essonne), on $830M of debt financing from seven European banks, dated 30 March 2026. Primary reporting from CNBC, DCD and EU-Startups converged on 13,800; the previously cited 13,800-18,000 range collapsed to 13,800 on that convergence.

FX provenance, settled 2026-05-08: the announced total of $114B is a USD-native sum of its components — $2.7B of government France 2030 money, $38B for the UAE data-center campus, $21.8B from Brookfield, and $51.475B of other private money, each press-attributed in USD. It is not a converted figure from the €109B Macron headline, which is editorial parallel framing rather than the source of truth. The currency of record is therefore USD, with no FX conversion recorded: there is no single-date-sourceable rate to document. The €109B and $114B framings differ by approximately 1.4% (against the ECB rate of 1.0312 USD/EUR on 10 February 2025, €109B is $112.4B), a difference between USD-native press aggregation and EUR headline conversion. Government cumulative spend since 2018 (€2.5B, carried as $2.7B in the government-only figure) uses an implicit multi-year average rate that is not single-date-sourceable; it is surfaced here rather than fabricated as a single FX rate.
Update, 2026-07-14, on SoftBank's Hauts-de-France investment: the SoftBank press release (group.softbank, tier 1, retrieved from the publisher's own site, dated 2026-05-31) confirms an 'investment of up to EUR75 billion. The first phase, comprising an initial EUR45 billion investment to deliver 3.1 GW of AI data center capacity in the Hauts-de-France region by 2031, with data centers in Dunkirk (Loon-Plage), Bosquel and Bouchain' and 'up to 5 GW of AI data center capacity in France' overall. The FX rate applied is EUR/USD 1.1646, the ECB reference rate for 2026-06-01 — the nearest ECB business day to the Sunday 2026-05-31 release, and 2026-05-29 was 1.1644, essentially identical. The aspirational EUR75B, or $87.345B, is added to the decomposition and to the announced total, mirroring this record's own precedent of counting aspirational totals in the announced figure while flagging the firm sub-portion separately, as already done for the UAE data-center campus and Brookfield entries above. The firm Phase 1 commitment is EUR45B, or $52.41B, for 3.1 GW by 2031; that firmer figure is not separately added to the committed total, which here tracks government-only committed spend per this record's existing convention, SoftBank's commitment being private foreign direct investment already captured in the decomposition entry.
Update, 2026-07-14, on France 2030's additional EUR655M, which is not added to the government-only figure because of a reconciliation risk: Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced an additional EUR655M via France 2030 on 2026-06-16, ahead of VivaTech, aimed at AI Gigafactories and PIIEC support, per five independent converging French outlets — publicsenat.fr, laminute.info, cryptoast.fr, kulturegeek.fr and lagazettefrance.fr, all reporting identical figures, date and context. The gouvernement.fr primary (info.gouv.fr/actualite/accelerer-l-ia-dans-l-etat-et-au-service-des-francais) returns 403 Forbidden to automated retrieval, consistent with the known fetch constraint on French government sites. Converted at EUR/USD 1.1594, the ECB rate for 2026-06-16, EUR655M would be approximately $759.4M. It is not folded into the government-only figure of $2.7B, framed as cumulative since 2018, because whether it is genuinely incremental or restates money already inside that cumulative figure is unresolved — flagged here rather than risking a double-count.
Update, 2026-07-14, on Mistral and Eclairion at Bruyères-le-Châtel — a status change only, with no change to the accelerator count: aichatdaily.com, dated 2026-06-18 and at tier 3, reports that the 44MW facility 'is operational with 18,000 NVIDIA GB200 systems.' The hardware status above moves from procurement-active to operational on that single tier-3 source, the facility already being on record, which makes this a status update rather than a new claim. The accelerator count in the same article, 18,000 GB200, is not applied: it conflicts with this record's own prior validation, described in the GB300 entry above, where the previously cited 13,800-18,000 range collapsed to 13,800 after CNBC, DCD and EU-Startups converged. One weak tier-3 source recycling the rejected number is not grounds to reopen a settled multi-source validation, and 13,800 GB300 is retained.
