Announcements are few and enormous: 116 announced sites average 352 MW against 56 MW across the 355 that are operating. The gigawatt figures in circulation are a small number of very large plans.

Capacity by status. Band height is proportional to megawatts at one scale; the four sum to the figure above. Ink carries how real each band is — operating solid, under construction hatched, announced hollow. These are concurrent states of a stock, not a cohort: the announced megawatts are not the source of the operating ones, and nothing here measures how many announcements get built. 85% of the megawatts are estimated rather than disclosed; 93% come from primary filings or research databases, chiefly Epoch AI GPU Clusters (53%), Epoch AI Frontier Data Centers (16%) and Company disclosure (press / IR) (13%). How these are counted.
