CASPIr is planned to provide more than 15 PFlop/s for Irish and European researchers, public services and smaller businesses. EuroHPC and the University of Galway will jointly own the system; ICHEC will operate it. The acquisition budget is up to €25M, with 65% from Ireland and 35% from EuroHPC. The tender opened in March 2026 and closed in May. CASPIr will also support Ireland’s AI Factory Antenna, which provides technical resources and training for AI adoption.
