Cancelled. Intel’s second-quarter 2025 earnings release, dated 2025-07-24, states that Intel “will no longer move forward with planned projects in Germany and Poland” — ending the €30 billion Magdeburg megafab announced in March 2022. Germany had pledged federal funding of up to €9.9 billion under a declaration of intent signed 2023-06-23, which the Federal Government itself described as subject to European Commission approval under state-aid law. Intel first paused the project by “approximately two years” in September 2024; the July 2025 statement ended it.
